Cross Country Season

This year for Cross Country we went to three races.  Two races were at Lake Sylvia and one at Hoquiam High School.  After the League Race Harper said she wanted to "run a race like Aubrey".  Aubrey Anderson is on the girls team and is also in our ward.  Harper and Noah were good sports and being sitting in the stroller during the races.

Giving Harper snacks was helpful and Noah slept through most of the races

Photo Shoot

Uncle Fory and Aunt Leann made a cradle for their grandson when he was a baby.  They let us use it for Noah.  I thought it would be fun to take a picture for them with both Harper and Noah in the cradle.  It was a bit challenging getting a good picture.

Cousins

Harper's only cousin on the Edwards side, Shelby is in her 30s now.  Terri gave me some of Shelby's clothes, which included a duck sweater.  James has a picture of Shelby wearing the sweater when she was a toddler.  So here is two cousins, 34 years apart, wearing the same sweater.

Halloween

I like carving pumpkins and I thought Harper would be very interested in doing so.  I was wrong, she had more fun playing with chair.  Noah was a good sport and supervised mommy and daddy.

Halloween was a busy day.  Harper, Noah, Aunt Leann, and I went to the Library.  They have pumpkins for the kids to decorate.  Harper loves going to the library.

This year for Halloween, Harper was a bumble bee and Noah was Stanley Spadowski from UHF.  Since James had Districts for Cross Country I asked Aunt Leann to come with us to the downtown Trick-or-Treating.  Uncle Fory wanted to come and we talked Grandma Flo into coming too.  Aunt Terri also dressed up and joined us.  Terri had this mechanical broom that cackled and it scared Harper.  She did not want to get into her costume at first.  Harper was also a little unsure about some of the costumes but she liked the idea of getting candy.  At one of the banks two tellers each had candy in their hands.  Harper took candy from one of the tellers and then reached for the other tellers candy.

James made it home in time for Trunk-or Treat at the church.  Harper was more interested in running around the parking lot then getting candy.  After the church, we went to Kaye Handley's house and had chili.  Harper also got a full size candy bar.

Noah is 4 months old

Noah is a really happy and content little guy unless he tired.  He does not like to be rocked to sleep but I like to sing a song or two to him so he usually is crying while I am singing. He does a good job putting himself to sleep.  He loves Harper and she always can make him laugh.  He has a great laugh and it is easy to get him laughing.  He is very interested in toys especially if he can put them in his mouth.  He rolled over for the first time on November 10.  He likes to roll on his tummy and does so really quickly now.  He is sleeping through the night and wakes up between 6-7am.  He is still a great nurses and feeds 6 times a day.  Like when Harper was a baby, he seems to be very observant, almost as though he is studying people.  He likes to hold my hand while nursing and will reach for it.  A couple of times Harper has been laying next to her and he reaches for her hand.  He is very loving. Many people comment on how handsome Noah is.

Harperisms

Harper continues to be a joy in our lives.  She picks up on things quickly and I am amazed with some of the words she uses.  Her pronunciation of words is getting better each day.  She has started to use the "I" pronoun instead of saying "me" do this or that.  She LOVES to dance and 2 of her skirts have beomce part of her dancing costume (both are often worn at the same time).  She loves being read to and sometimes will read to herself.  She was reading the "Little Engine That Could" and was saying "Train broken" and then fake crying.

Harper makes sure anyone that comes to our house takes off their shoes.  She loves watching "Papa Bear" (Berstein Bears) on YouTube.  If she gets a hold of my phone and it is unlocked she will go to the YouTube app and try and find Papa Bear.

She can ride her tricyle and is great at kicking balls.  She wants to play "Hoop Ball" or "Football".  She loves digging in the dirt and jumping in puddles.

Harper is not a big fan of getting her teeth brushed unless there is "poo paste"

She calls Noah "Sissy Boy".  Sometimes when I give her instructions I tell her to look at me.  She nows grabs Noah's face with both hands and says "Look Me" or "Look Face".

Harper often tells us "No Home" when we are headed home in the car after being somewhere.  I ask her where she wants to go.  Since she does not respond I say "Do you want to go to China?"  Well, Harper decided her tent was China and she would go to "China" when we put the blanket over her tent.

Harper loves being outdoors.  Here she is with a walking stick.

Silly, silly Harper

Harper loves wearing her skirts to dance and she also loves her naked time. I was taking a picture of Noah and she told me to take a picture of her.

Harper loves books, being read to, and her Uncle Fory

Visiting Uncle Gerald

We decided to go to the Portland Temple on October 11.  Since James's Uncle Gerald lives near Portland, we also went and saw him for a visit.  Uncle Gerry is the last of Grandpa Jim's sibling to be alive.
