Harper and Mama

Harper found that she can use my pregnant belly as a pillow.  Harper now smiles for the camera when asked too.

Harper loves putting on other people's shoes; this includes anyone that visits our house.
Here she is wearing Mama's Sunday Shoes.

Bike riding Season

The sun is finally out and we have been on a few family bike rides.  Harper enjoys riding on the back of my bike and she loves to wear her helmet (even if she is not on her bike).

Harper thought she looked so funny in her helmet.

Getting ready for our first bike ride of the season.

Uncle Fory and Aunt Leann

Harper loves spending time at Uncle Fort and Aunt Leann's house.  They have all sorts of toys for her to play with including a slide, a tugboat, and a sandbox.  Usually when we go outside to play Harper tries to sneak over to their house.

Playing Outside

Harper loves playing outside.  Finally the sun is out and it is warm enough to play outside.  Harper usually cries when it is time to go inside.

Just a little light reading

Harper continues to love to look at books.  While I was cleaning the guest room, Harper laid on top of the bed looking  at a book about Madam Trousseau (wax museum in London).

Northwestern Childhood

While Matt and Gavin were here it was a bit rainy one day when we went outside to see Uncle Fory's property.  When we came back to our house we walked around the yard and Harper found herself a  mud puddle to sit in.

Harper was not too sure of the mud at first.

Kansas Cousins

Harper's cousins from Kansas came to visit for their Spring Break (March 9-14).  Heidi, Mathew, and Gavin spent the first part of their vacation with Uncle Derek's family. On Monday, March 11, Harper and I drove up to Lakewood and met Heidi, Matt, Gavin, Evan, Greta, and Aunt Alexis at Hess Germany Bakery.  We bought goodies and headed for Steilacom Park.  We played on the playground, walked around the lake, and had a yummy lunch of Salami and Brotchen.  After the lunch we headed over to Bass Pro Shop for some bowling.

After Bowling, Heidi, Matt, Gavin, Harper and I headed too Seattle so we could take the Ferry to the Kitsap Peninsula and then drive home from Bremerton.  Matt and Gavin had never been on a Ferry.  The next day we hiked around Lake Sylvia .  Heidi and the boys were suppose to return home on Wednesday but there was a bad snowstorm in Denver so their flight was changed to Thursday.  With the extra day we had we went out to Westport and hunted for Sand-dollars on the beach.  The boys found more than 10 each.  Harper had a wonderful time playing with Matt and Gavin.  They were so good to her and had her laughing a lot.  She really loved being with her cousins.

Portland Temple

Every month James and I attend the temple; we take turns go inside.  Since the Seattle Temple was closed we went to the Portland Temple.  While James was inside Harper and I walked around the Temple.  She tried to get in the baptistry doors because she knew Daddy was somewhere inside.  She kept saying "Daddy" and knocking on the doors.

Also while at the Temple I read on her carseat that once the child is 25 lbs they should be forward facing.  Since Harper is 26lbs I turned her seat around.  She loves sitting forward and I love being able to turn around and see her cute face.

Just Chillin                    Why do you keep turning around
                                                                                                  and looking at me?

The hand starts to slowly fall           A little more

And it is down for the count

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Harper and I decided to make Oatmeal Raisin Cookies in preparation for her cousins, Matt and Gavin's visit.  In the process of making the cookies I accidentally put 1 cup of sugar instead of 1/2 cup.  James said to double the recipe so we did and ended up making 79 cookies.  Quite a few friends and family members received oatmeal cookies that day.

Harper is wearing the apron Aunt Leanne made her for Christmas. I love her smile.

Ashes Ashes

I taught Harper "Ring Around the Rosie" and now she goes around singing "Ashes Ashes".

She also does the "swish swish swish" for the "Wipers on the Bus goes swish swish swish"  and she says "wham wham wham"and rubs her cheeks with a fist for the "Babies on the Bus go wham wham"

Other words that Harper now says are:  Bu (Bowl); Oogle (Google); Wa (Water); Jees (Jesus);

Reading in the Bathroom

Harper reading the Ensign in Mama and Daddy's bathroom.

The Faces of Harper

Harper has some great facial expressions.  She has her sad face, mad face, silly face, happy face, and her "What you talkin about Willis" face (from 80s TV show Different Strokes).  I wish I could capture them all on camera.  Here a few that I captured on a day we were playing outside.

Harper and Mommy.              Harper's camera smile.

Cleaning up Harper Style

After taking a bath Harper loves to run around in her diaper.  On this particular evening she was helping Daddy clean up in her diaper with her backpack on.

Riding my horsey

Harper has a toy broom and mop and recently she discovered that she can put it between her legs and ride it like a horsey.  She likes it when Mommy and Daddy will join in on the fun.

I still love Technology

I took Harper to the Montesano Library and she of course wanted to play on the computer.  I decided to open a story that can be read to the listener.  She listened to most of it before she was ready to move on.
