Eight Months Pregnant

Everyone keeps tell me that I look like I have a basketball under my shirt and that I am ready to pop.  My belly has certainly grown the last few weeks.  This baby is sitting lower and puts more strain on my back.  I only sleep a cupola of hours and then wake up to go to the bathroom or try and rollover.  I am scheduled to have a C-section on June 18 at 8am if the baby does not come before then; I am praying he will come before then.

Rhody Run 2019

Another race that James has done for many years (20+) is the Rhody Run in Port Townsend.  In addition to James, Fory and Leann also participate in this run.  James's family camps at Fort Warden State Park and makes a weekend of it.  We took Harper to a playground one day; she loves going to the "Wee Wee".

The day before the Rhody Run, there is a parade in town.  Right before the parade there is the "Running of the Balls" in which a whole bunch (probably couple thousand) golf balls are released down this hill.  The first few golf balls to go in a hole win a monetary prize; it is a fundraiser.  If you look real hard you can see some golf balls rolling down the hill; I was too slow in taking pictures.

All ready for the parade. L to R: Holly, Grandma Flo, Aunt Faye and Uncle Gerald Edwards, Christine Edwards (James's cousin), Aunt Leann, Harper, and Uncle Fory.

Seeing daddy off at the starting line.  Harper was taking it all in and watching people.

Uncle Fory and Leann passing us on their way to the Finnish Line.

Harper started crying when Fory and Leann kept on walking past us.

Daddy heading towards the Finish Line.

After Harper and James took a nap, James and I took Harper down to the water.  She loved playing in the sand and freezing water.  Side note:  during her nap time Harper took off her diaper and eventually went pee.  James found her naked and wet.

The Lighthouse at Fort Warden.  I love these flowers; they are all over Port Townsend.

There was a great playground for a toddler just up the road from Fort Warden

Playing is hardworking or somebody is pretending to be asleep

Another fun weekend.

Funny Funny Harper

Harper is so much fun to have around.  Here are some photos of the day and life of Harper.

Harper loves bath time.  She will lay down in the water and relax.  Sometimes she lays on her stomach and "swims".

Harper filled her backpacks with items and said "bye bye"; she was going on a trip.  She loves to spend the morning in her diaper.

Harper and I went walking with my friend, Juliana, around Friends' Landing.  It had rained that morning and sprinkled a bit on us but that did not stop Harper from playing at the playground.  She was soaking wet by the time we headed for home.  I had to wring her clothes out and change her before heading home.

As we get ready for the new baby, Harper has enjoyed playing with the baby toys, sitting in the bouncy chair, and wrapping herself up in a baby blanket Kaylynn Larsen gave me.

 Trying on Grandma's sunglasses.

Harper empty the Legos at Grandma's house and then used the bucket as a helmet.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year James and Harper took me out to dinner on Saturday and then made me breakfast on Sunday.  After church we went to Fory and Leann's for a BBQ.  Harper got meet Uncle Joel's new dog; Harper loves dogs and cats and thinks it's funny to pet them.  After dinner Aunt Leann gave Harper a ride in the toy wheel barrow down the hill; Harper thought this was great fun.

 Petting Ginger

Harper would have down this for the rest of the evening but it is a Quad Burner for the adult.

Daddy taking his turn and giving Harper a ride.

Harper used the wheelbarrow to go "shopping" and picked up items from the yard.  She put her finger to her mouth as she thought about what to pick up next.  Makes me wonder if I do this when we are grocery shopping.

First Brain Freeze

Harper loves Ice Cream or as she says "Ice".  She finally got a brain freeze on her fourth time eating Ice Cream.  She wanted a hug as she started to cry so I gave her a hug and quickly got my phone to take pictures; she was just so cute.

Bloomsday 2019

For the last 43 years, on the first weekend of May, James has run the Bloomsday 12K in Spokane, Washington.  The race was created in 1977 and James ran it while in college.  Since he has not missed one he is called a "Perennial" and he gets a special shirt and starts behind the professional runners.  This a huge race with 35,000+ participants.  We left Monte Friday morning and came back on Sunday.  Harper had a good time playing at Discovery Park while Daddy did a session at the Spokane Temple, playing in the water fountain downtown, and riding the carousel multiple times.

Family Selfie at the Spokane Temple

Part of the fun Harper had at the park was watching the other kids.  She is very observant.  She also played in the drinking fountain and got a little wet.  Just before we left, she was playing in the sandbox and another kid dumped sand on her wet shirt and then a little girl about her age dumped sand in her hair.  So, needless to say, we had to change clothes before going to pick up daddy.  James and Harper played at another park while I did initiatories.

Enjoying a Hamburger and Fries with daddy at Dick's.  James used to run into Spokane from Cheney and eat at Dicks while he was in college.  A 17 mile run with a Burger and Fries as a reward.

Harper loved playing in the water fountain.  She would have played longer but the water was pretty cold and since she was shivering pretty bad we made her stop.

We quickly changed Harper's clothes and she cuddled with daddy to get warm.  After riding the carousel we went and got a Hot Chocolate.

Harper loved the carousel and got to ride it 3 times over the weekend.

This is the Upper Spokane Falls

Seeing daddy off at the Start Line

I liked to watch James start the race and then Harper and I went over to the Spokane Courthouse to watch James finish the race.

There are bands playing along the race route.  Harper enjoyed dancing to a grunge band as we waited for daddy to come by.  Harper loves to dance.

James has had some horrible back pain in the morning, we think from yard work, and so he ran this race slower than he wanted but he finished.

Giving Daddy knuckles as he nears the finish line.  After the finish line the racers cross a bridge over lower Spokane Falls.

Looks like someone had a fun filled weekend.
