Snowbird

I went back and forth about whether or to we would go to Snowbird.  I was concerned about driving so far with Noah as a newborn.  It is a 13 hour drive if one drives in one day.  We would have to brake it up into two days.  I finally decided to go as I knew that Harper would love being there.  We drove to Boise the first day.  It is normally 8 hour drive but it took up about 10 hours.  The next day, the 6 hour drive took us about 7 hours.  Coming home was a different story.  The 8 hour drive took us 13 because we had to stop to nurse and we got stuck in some traffic; very long day.  Overall the kids did great on the drive.  The hotel room was a different story.

Sleeping at the hotel was Harper's first experience sleeping in a big bed for the night.  She would not stay in bed.  I tried cuddling with her, James tried, we tried reading books.  Finally, I got so frustrated that I put her in the pack-n-play instead of Noah.  Well, she almost pulled a mirror off the wall and then climbed out.  James laid down with her and would let her up and she cried and screamed; I have never heard her cry and scream that way.  I was holding Noah and I said Harper "Do you want to cuddle with daddy or mommy".  She said mommy so I went to her side of the bed, stood there with Noah, and stroked her head.  She fell asleep; I think she exhausted herself.  Over the course of the week at Snowbird she got use to sleeping in a big bed and going to bed when everyone else did so that on the return trip she did just fine going to sleep.

I am glad that we went to Snowbird.  Harper had a blast playing with her cousins and Oma and Opa.

And we are off and heading to Snowbird.  This was the picture I sent Alexis and Oma showing we were on our way.

Since Oma and Opa and Derek's family had not arrived yet, we went down to Temple Square on Sunday before going to my friend, Nikki's, house.  James was pointing out Moroni.

Harper slept in most mornings.  She played hard each day.
